The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson, Shoaib Shaheen, stated that the present government and the establishment would be held accountable if anything happened to the detained party founder Imran Khan.
“There have been attempts to threaten and murder the PTI founder. Why do terrorists target Adiala Jail rather than other institutions around the country? Shaheen remarked this while speaking to journalists outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office in Islamabad on Thursday.
His comment comes after the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have detained three “Afghan” terrorists and found a blueprint of Adiala Jail, a hand grenade, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in their possession.Khan, the only prime minister to be voted out of office, is currently imprisoned at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.
A failed assassination attempt on Khan’s life occurred in November 2022, while he was leading an anti-government demonstration in Wazirabad. He sustained bullet wounds in his leg.
