ISLAMABAD: The government’s negotiating committee spokesperson, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, threatened Monday to dissolve the committee if the PTI did not attend the fourth round of negotiations, which is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday).
The move was made only days after the party led by Imran Khan chose to boycott the fourth round of negotiations with the government due to a “delay” in forming judicial commissions to look into the violent riots that took place on May 9, 2023, and the crackdown on party protestors in Islamabad on November 26 of last year.
Siddiqui took to Geo News to call the PTI’s position on the ongoing negotiations “illogical,” claiming that the ruling coalition just sought seven working days while the prior ruling party required six weeks to present its requests to the government’s team.
