The parliamentary committee meeting concerning the appointment of Pakistan’s new chief judge was not attended by the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) on Tuesday.
Details indicate that Senator Kamran Murtaza, the leader of the JUI-F, had been in touch with the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) leadership. Sources said that Murtaza had discussed the party’s attendance at the special committee meeting when he spoke with the SIC.
According to people with knowledge of the development, SIC said that the political committee had decided not to attend the meeting of the parliamentary committee.
