Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Chairman Hamid Raza announced on Wednesday that his party will put the future government to the test.
Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV, Raza stated, “The misunderstanding was created by the letter penned to the Election Commission of Pakistan.”
“Our letter has nothing to do with the reserved seats,” Raza went on to say.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) deferred its decision on Wednesday on petitions regarding the allocation of reserved seats to the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), in which PTI-backed independents joined the party leadership decision after winning in their respective constituencies.
The PTI made the move after it lost its electoral symbol in the run-up to the February 8 elections.PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, lawyer Ali Zafar, and SIC Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza all appeared before the electoral commission.
During the hearing, the ECP stated that the decision was still pending before the commission and that the notifications for the 10 reserved seats for women in the National Assembly and 21 reserved seats for women in the KP Assembly had been put on hold.
