Four Independent Power Producers (IPPs) have agreed to early contract termination, indicating that the federal government’s efforts with these IPPs are starting to pay off.
An early termination agreement has been signed by Atlas Power, Saba Power, Rousch Power, and Lalpir Power. Based on reliable sources provided by Business Recorder, Hubco is anticipated to follow suit on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Senior security officers, legal professionals, and representatives from the SECP, PPIB, CPPA-G, and Nepra comprised the Power Sector Task Force, which was instrumental in convincing IPPs founded under the pre-1994, 1994, and 2002 Power Generation Policies to revise their contracts.
Hubco Power, Rousch Power, and Lalpir Power were three of these IPPs that first opposed the notion of ending their Power Purchase Agreements.
