ISLAMABAD: According to The News, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), voiced Sindh’s serious concerns on Tuesday regarding the building of new canals from the Indus River. He emphasized that the matter needs to be reviewed by the Council of Common Interests (CCI) and resolved by consensus.
“President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the government’s unilateral policies without consensus, especially the decision to make new canals from the Indus,” Bilawal told reporters at Parliament House.
“President Zardari clarified the matter in front of the current administration and the National Assembly. The problem needs to be examined and fixed since it is putting a lot of strain on the government,” he stated.
According to Bilawal, the recommendations have no justification.
