In reaction to the impending threat of heavy rain, the Sindh government has taken preventive measures, announcing the closure of schools throughout the province for tomorrow, Friday.
The decision comes amid expectations of severe weather, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicting rain, windstorms, and the likelihood of isolated hailstorms from February 29 to March 2.
The Sindh School Education and Literacy Department issued a notification cancelling all evening classes in both private and public schools. This measure is intended to guarantee the safety of students and staff in light of the expected bad weather conditions.
In addition to the school closures, the Sindh government declared a rain emergency throughout the province. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui, in a statement, stressed that importance of precautionary measures and announced that offices in Karachi would operate for only half a day on Friday.
