According to provincial information minister Sharjeel Memon, the Sindh government would test children for drugs in educational institutions on Wednesday.
“If there is a positive test result, only the parents will be notified,” he declared as he presided over the committee meeting on drug addiction prevention.
“The primary priority will be the arrest of drug suppliers, dealers, and their facilitators, after which the child will be questioned about the source of the drugs.”
Memon stated that President Asif Ali Zardari was “deeply concerned” about the growing trend of drug consumption and that he had issued directions to curb the drug menace after taking office.
