The leader of Labour demanded that the sports maker return the multicolored flag to its original form.
His remarks follow demands on social media for X to boycott the US sports manufacturer following the shift.
The controversy erupted when Nike released images of the new England uniform online ahead of this summer’s Euro 24 competition.
One of the news postings displayed a new design with a purple, blue, black, and red cross on the back of the shirt, while other photos showcased the traditional white jersey and the new purple “away” outfit.
“It is a unifier, it doesn’t need to be changed, we just need to be proud of it – so, I think they should just reconsider this and change it back.”
He continued, saying, “I don’t even think they can adequately justify why they felt the need to amend it in the first place.
“One more thing on that for me, they could also reduce the price of the shirts – I think it’s £130.”
On the Nike website, a home team shirt costs £124.99 for men and women.
