ISLAMABAD: Sir Vivian Richards, the respected West Indian cricket icon and mentor of the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), believes the tournament has done a good job of exposing Pakistan cricket’s emerging talent.
In an exclusive interview with Geo News, the West Indian cricket icon discussed the PSL’s expansion, the emergence of new talent, and the current status of cricket. Richards, with his customary charisma, brought a distinct viewpoint to different parts of the game.
Richards, who has been engaged with the PSL since its beginning, expressed his enthusiasm for the league’s consistent growth over time.
“Every year, it appears to be better. And you can only speak about the people who attend this tournament,” he said, emphasizing the caliber of the competitors.
When asked about the PSL’s role in developing fresh talent, Richards acknowledged Pakistan’s cricketing abilities. “Pakistan is blessed with enormous talent,” he said, emphasizing the league’s significance in allowing young players to exhibit their abilities on a worldwide scale.
