The Pakistan Army has elevated a number of outstanding officers to the rank of Lieutenant General and placed them in important staff and command roles that are essential to the army’s organizational and operational efficacy.
The commander of 2 Corps in Multan, one of the army’s primary fighting formations, is Lt Gen Ahsan Gulrez, who was elevated last year. He was the Director General Joint Staff (DG JS) before that.
With his promotion to Lt Gen, Maj Gen Tabbasum Habib will take on the position of Director General Joint Staff (DG JS), supervising strategic cooperation across Pakistan’s military branches. Prior to this, he was the DG for Perspective Planning.
