Four human skeletons that were found buried inside Hermann Goering’s villa were all missing their hands and feet.
In February, the remains were discovered at Wolf’s Lair. The region, which is in present-day Poland, was a part of Germany from 1941 until 1944 and was Hitler’s main headquarters.
Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg attempted to kill Hitler on July 20, 1944, in the complex of around 200 Nazi bunkers and military quarters tucked away in the forest.
German Nazi soldiers demolished Wolf’s Lair during their withdrawal in early 1945 to keep it out of the hands of the Soviet Red Army that was drawing near. Today, what’s left is a popular travel destination.
