ISLAMABAD: A day after issuing their production orders, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Friday proclaimed the Parliament Lodges of ten Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislators, who had been arrested for allegedly breaking a new legislation pertaining to public gatherings, to be under sub-jail.
The development follows the declaration of null and void in multiple cases pertaining to the September 8 rally by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding PTI members of the National Assembly’s (MNA) eight-day physical remand.
Many PTI leaders were detained in relation to multiple cases, including the alleged attack on police at Chongi No. 26, which became the scene of a confrontation between PTI members and law enforcement (LEAs) when the formers diverted from the paths leading to Sangjani, the location of the party’s public meeting.
