The actress Lily Gladstone, who starred in Killers of the Flower Moon, talked about how she used the she/they pronoun to decolonize gender.
The Native American celebrity stated, “I use pronouns as a way to decolonize gender for myself,” in an interview with People.
The actor clarified that she uses pronouns to embrace the fact that she is “aware that I’m a little different when I’m among women.” I don’t feel like a man in a gathering of men. I don’t feel at all [masculine]. I think being among men makes me feel more feminine.”
“In ceremony, a lot of times where you sit in the circle is a gendered thing,” she said.”I luck to be seated in groups that are really accepting of all of our ethnicities.”I luck to be seated in groups that are really accepting of all of our ethnicities.
