After suffering a hamstring injury more than two months prior, all-rounder Stokes bowled 10 overs in England’s loss in the second Test.
The only speed bowlers in England’s XI for Thursday’s third Test in Rawalpindi are Stokes and Gus Atkinson. Leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed has been picked up by the tourists to join Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir in a spin trio.
“It was good to get through it,” Stokes remarked concerning the second Test. “I have bowled two periods and put myself through my paces during training.
I am certain that I will be able to perform better this week than I did last week, especially because I am one of just two seamers.
Due to a chronic left knee problem, Stokes, 33, hardly bowled from the spring of 2023 till the home summer of 2024.
