The first Met Office warning covers the South West and extends from the West Midlands to the South East and is in force on Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. It also includes Swansea and Cardiff in the western portion of Wales.
According to the news, buildings will likely sustain damage from lightning strikes that occur during storms.
Additionally, they warned that driving may be impacted by hail, spray, and/or standing water due to the probability of up to 40mm of rain in three hours. They also mentioned the likelihood of power outages and the potential for rail delays.
Early on Friday, there might be a few thunderstorms in southern and southeast England, but by the middle of the day, the Met Office predicted that the showers will spread out more inside the warning area.
“Thundery storms will bring frequent lightning, gusty winds, possibly some large hail, as well as brief spells of heavy rain, even if some regions will remain dry.
