The problem started when DIG Shah accused SSP Rehman in a letter to the Sindh police head of having connections to infamous criminals who have killed police officers, kidnapped them for ransom, and committed robberies.
According to him, the actions of the SSP “undermine the efforts of law enforcement and jeopardize the safety of both the police and citizens of the region.”
SSP Rehman was annoyed by the letter and informed the media that rather than writing to the police head, his higher officer ought to have consulted him first.
Officers accused one another following the assault on the former MPA.
The two cops’ disagreements surfaced following an assault on former MPA Shaharyar Shar in Ubauro. Mr. Shar was unharmed throughout the assault.
