Shortly after the Punjab government announced the province-wide holiday period for schools, the All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSMA) on Friday criticized the proposal to start the summer vacations in educational institutions from June 1.
Due to the extreme heat, the province government had earlier in the day declared that all public and private schools would observe the traditional summer break from June 1 to August 14.
The APPSMA, however, disagreed with the announcement and requested authorization to enable the schools to operate from June 1 to June 15 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
According to the union, “closing schools due to extreme heat or cold has become routine.” It claimed that suspension worked in the same way.
