To address the surge in antisemitic incidents on campus and disruptions to students’ education, the prime minister has called the vice chancellors of prestigious institutions to a conference.
With more and more pro-Palestine encampments popping up at colleges in reaction to the Israel-Hamas conflict, Jewish students have complained that their school is a “toxic” place.
The Union of Jewish Students (UJS) has cautioned that the rhetoric coming from these encampments “is increasing in hostility” and has urged on university administrators to take greater action to keep Jewish students safe, even if there haven’t been any violent confrontations like those seen in the US.
