The superyacht they were on capsized and sank in a tornado off the coast of Sicily, leaving Mr. Lynch and five other people missing. The rescuers worry that they are stuck inside the wreck.
The chef’s body from the yacht has been found.
The common spaces of the boat have been accessed by divers, but the cabins have not been reached, according to Tuesday night’s Italian media.
With Mr. Lynch, David Tabizel founded the software business Autonomy, the sale of which was the focus of the US fraud prosecution. David remarked, “I’m just heartbroken for him and his family and I hope there’s a miracle about to occur.”
He possesses the fortitude necessary to endure this, if anyone can. He added, “And I hope he’s found an air pocket.”
Following Mr. Lynch’s $11 billion (£8.6 billion) sale of Autonomy to the US computer giant Hewlett-Packard, he was charged with conspiracy and attempted fraud, sparking a protracted legal struggle in the US.
He spent more than a year under house arrest before being found not guilty of several counts of fraud in June.
