The SCBA, or Supreme Court Bar Association, has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into individuals who meddle in the legal system.
The declaration from the bar is being made as it provides recommendations to the Supreme Court, which has taken a suo motu notice of the letters six Islamabad High Court justices wrote claiming meddling in court matters.
The bar organization responded by emphasizing the necessity of combating any attempts at outside influence in order to protect the independence and integrity of the judiciary. “There is a code of conduct related to the responsibilities and protection of judges,” claimed the SCBA.
The proposal for an inquiry into people who interfere in court cases was one of the recommendations made. Additionally, the SCBA recommended that the Islamabad High Courthave exercised its power of contempt of court against any interference in judicial affairs.
“It is beyond understanding that the high court did not proceed with contempt of court,” the bar association said.
