Richard Hall, a former television producer, asserted without proof that No one was “genuinely injured” in the 2017 attack at an Ariana Grande concert and that it was a “elaborate hoax” by British government agencies.
After suffering serious injuries in the explosion, Martin Hibbert and his daughter Eve filed lawsuits against Mr. Hall for harassment and data protection. A civil trial is scheduled for July.
In a written decision today, High Court judge Mrs. Justice Steyn stated that the plaintiffs had been successful in their harassment case, but she would not yet rule on the data protection issue.
Mr. Hall accused Ms. Hibbert and her mother of “secretly filming” the bombing at their home and claiming it was a “hoax” in a book and a number of videos.
In particular, Mr. Hall had claimed that Mr. Hibbert and his daughter had not attended the event that evening and were not hurt there.
The judge declared that Mr. Hall’s conduct was “oppressive, unacceptable, and of sufficient gravity to sustain criminal liability” and that he had been “blinkered” in his ideas.
