Authorities in the Chagai district claimed on Sunday that the bodies of eight Pakistanis who were killed in the Sistan region of Iran had not yet been sent to Taftan.
Unknown gunmen killed the victims, who were auto mechanics, at their Mehrestan district workshop, which is roughly 230 kilometers from the Pakistan-Iran border.
The local government is coordinating the relocation with Iranian authorities and the Pakistani embassy in Tehran, according to Chagai Deputy Commissioner (DC).
The DC also noted that the bodies may not be sent to the border town of Taftan for another two days, according to the Pakistani embassy in Tehran.
Plans are already in place for the bodies to be transported to Bahawalpur.
