Takeru Kobayashi, a six-time champion of the legendary Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, announced his retirement in a new Netflix documentary, revealing that he no longer has an appetite.
Kobayashi, 46, discussed his health concerns in the film “Hack Your Health: The Secrets of Your Gut.” He guessed that during the course of his 20-year career, he had consumed approximately 10,000 hot dogs.
The documentary covers the lives of four people, each of which has their own digestive health difficulties. Kobayashi discusses his lack of appetite, which his wife admits has caused the competitive eater to go days without eating.
