A massive heart attack during a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) game in Savar on Monday sent former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal to the hospital.
After complaining of chest trouble during the first innings of the game, the left-handed batter—who is no longer playing for his country—had an emergency angioplasty, according to ESPNCricinfo.
According to match referee Debabrata Paul, Tamim, who was leading his team Mohammedan Sporting Club against the Shinepukur Cricket Club, fielded for one over before being transferred to the KPJ Specialised Hospital and Nursing Home.
