Ten people of Pakistani descent were detained by Spanish authorities in Barcelona on suspicion of terrorism. According to reports, the individuals were connected to an extremist-ideologically driven organized crime cell that used online chat services to provide violent orders.
Another suspect was arrested in Italy as part of the same investigation. The arrests happened on the evening of March 3 during an operation.

The arrests were made in a coordinated operation by the Spanish National Police, Italian law enforcement, and the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police), according to a media source that quoted a statement from the Spanish authorities.
Five people were arrested in 2022 and fourteen in 2023 prior to this operation.
