In the bottom of the seventh inning, Dreiling, who made a valiant effort in Game 2, launched a two-run home bomb. After then, Kavares Tears’ RBI double made it 6-1. Tennessee was leading the game, but in the eighth inning, Texas A&M started to rally.
The Vols supporters were sweating after two runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth, but they were ecstatic when Combs struck out Burton.
In the victory, Blake Burke, Hunter Ensley, Dreiling, Tears, and Curley each scored two hits. When Ensley scored in the seventh inning, he startled the crowd by evading a tag during a play at the plate.
Zander Sechrist of Tennessee started for the Vols, going 5.1 innings and recording one strikeout.
