The physical remand of senior journalist Matiullah Jan in a case against him at the Margalla Police Station in the federal capital for anti-terrorism and anti-narcotics charges was suspended by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq made the announcement in response to a plea contesting Jan’s two-day physical remand that an anti-terrorism court (ATC) had granted on Thursday.
This comes a day after the journalist was taken into custody by the Islamabad Police at the E-9 checkpoint on charges of assaulting directors.
