NY: The Quadrilateral Group, which is made up of Pakistan, China, Iran, and Russia, held a ministerial meeting wherein they expressed grave worry over the security issues arising from Afghanistan. The group stated that terrorist organizations operating in the war-torn nation “pose a serious threat to regional and global security.”
Since the Taliban regime in neighboring Afghanistan retook power in 2021, Pakistan has seen a sharp increase in militant attacks. These attacks have primarily occurred in the northwest border region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), but they have also occurred in southwestern Balochistan, which borders both Afghanistan and Iran.
The two most vulnerable provinces saw a dramatic increase in fatal attacks last month, according to data from the Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS).
