According to the Electoral Commission, former President John Dramani Mahama won Ghana’s 2024 presidential election with 56.55% of the vote.
After losing to Nana Akufo-Addo as president from 2012 to 2017, Mahama is back in the White House with this triumph.
Mahama’s victory coincides with the nation’s economic difficulties, which have been major campaign concerns and include high inflation and growing living expenses.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), his party, hailed the result as a call for reform and a rejection of the policies of the current administration.
