This Monday’s announcement of the “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” calls for a future Harris government to offer “1 million loans that are fully forgivable to Black entrepreneurs and others to start a business.” Along with legalizing marijuana and providing support for Black males to care for their elderly, Harris also suggests establishing “education, training, and mentorship programs that help Black men get good-paying jobs.”
The Harris campaign promises that if all of that seems limited to non-Black Americans, it is not.
The campaign told The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday that all Americans, regardless of color or ethnicity, will be able to use Harris’ initiatives.
A campaign aide told the Wall Street Journal that the vice president is “clear-eyed about how Black men have long been denied the tools that would allow them to grow their wealth, get a good-paying job, and support their loved ones—she is championing solutions that will benefit all Americans and address these specific barriers to economic opportunity.”
