Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi of the Supreme Court has emphasized the necessity of reforms for the betterment of the judiciary in all courts, not just the anti-terrorism court.
The statement was made on Friday when a seven-member constitutional bench of the highest court heard an intra-court appeal against the trial of civilians in military courts.
Under the leadership of Justice Aminuddin Khan, the bench, which included Justices Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Musarrat Hilali, Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Shahid Bilal, questioned the difference between the civilians who participated in the May 9 riots and those who carried out the attacks on December 16.
