Security sources disclosed on Tuesday that, in contrast to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s assertion, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir did not receive a letter from the imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan.
According to people with knowledge of the situation, the media informed the military leadership about Khan’s letter.
The imprisoned former premier wrote a letter to the army chief requesting that he “reevaluate policy,” PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Khan’s attorney Faisal Chaudhry informed the media a day earlier.
Chaudhry told reporters outside of the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi: “Imran Khan, as a former prime minister and a party supremo, has written a six-point letter to the army chief.”
