After fighting a terrible drug addiction for 27 years, the country singer/songwriter has been clean for four years. The 43-year-old is now utilizing music to assist others in making positive life changes.
The new tune “Sleeves,” a heartbreaking ballad that sheds light on the dark cycle of addiction, is by Waylon Jennings’ and Jessi Colter’s grandson.
For a long time, I had a terrible moral framework,” the Nashville recording artist said to News. “I even entered the music industry with the wrong intentions. All I wanted was rock ‘n’ roll, drugs, and cheesy sex. It was simply a terrible choice made after another terrible choice.

When Jennings fell in love and lost the lady he loved, that was his wake-up call. According to Forbes, that woman would eventually become his wife.
“What really pushed me over the edge was getting her back,” he said. “After I believed she was gone, I gave in to my addiction head-on. I seemed to be hovering directly above the rock bottom. I had to go for assistance.
