MIANWALI: Following a heavy gunfight on Sunday, security forces killed four terrorists after repelling a violent attack on a police station in Mianwali, a district that borders Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to a police spokesperson, “more than 20 terrorists stormed the Chapri Police Station armed with rocket launchers and hand grenades.”
According to the spokesperson, two police officers were hurt in the gunfight, and two terrorists were killed by retaliatory fire. The surviving terrorists left the location after sustaining significant casualties.
According to the police spokeswoman, senior officers and District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali Akhtar Farooq were also on the scene. To catch the escaping terrorists, a search and clearance operation is still under progress.
