ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehabz Sharif has praised the opening of Gwadar International Airport, stating that the newly constructed facility will help the nation’s economy as a whole, not just Balochistan.
“Gwadar Airport could bring about immense benefits to the people of Balochistan as well as the whole country, if run on commercial lines,” the premier stated during his opening remarks at the federal cabinet meeting, which were broadcast on television.
A day earlier, the first PIA flight from Karachi, carrying 46 people, touched down at Gwadar International Airport, a crucial component of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The airport is the largest in Pakistan in terms of area, spanning 4,300 acres. The airport is situated in the Gurandani neighborhood, 26 kilometers from Gwadar city.
