Following Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Etihad Stadium, the 27-year-old has become the Premier League player with the longest unbeaten streak in all competitions, both past and present.
“It is hard to comprehend what we have accomplished without him in the last few years. Last month, City manager Pep Guardiola stated on the team’s website that “it would’ve been difficult.”
The streak extends beyond that of former Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho (58 games). Rodri’s final City defeat occurred against Tottenham in February 2023; however, that does include City’s Community Shield loss to Arsenal on penalties.
City has won the Premier League and Champions throughout that time.
