The largest public speaking competition in Turkey, the Istanbul University Model United Nations, which took place from July 8 to July 11, 2024, saw nine Pakistani students emerge victorious in their respective committees and win distinguished awards, according to a statement released by the Pakistan Consulate General in Istanbul.
According to the statement, 13 students who took part in the speaking engagement at Istanbul University were welcomed by the consul general.
According to the release, the 13 kids on the composite team were chosen from Bay View Academy, Nixor O’Levels, Karachi Grammar School, and The Cedar School.
One of the biggest public speaking competitions in Europe was founded in 1453.With 10,000 students from over 143 different countries and 57 different fields, the university has produced several well-known alumni, such as the previous president of Turkey.Along with students from Turkey, approximately 750 kids from over 17 nations participated in the competition. The Pakistani squad, which competed against college and university-level youngsters, included some of the youngest attendees at the conference, according to the press release.
Ten debate committees engaged in four days of spirited argument as part of the competition. The Pakistan team and their trainer were welcomed to the Pakistan Consulate by H.E. Mr. Nauman Aslam, the Consul General of Pakistan in Istanbul, who also complimented the team on their accomplishment.
In order to help Pakistan portray a better image overseas, the general consul of Pakistan emphasized the importance of constructive cultural and educational exchanges between Pakistan and Turkiye.
