The unaware bride claimed that as a “prank” for his Instagram account, her partner, a social media star, persuaded her to attend the ceremony.
It wasn’t until he attempted to exploit the marriage to obtain permanent residency in Australia that she realized it was real.
In a ruling released on Thursday, a Melbourne court granted the annulment after acknowledging that the woman had been duped into being married.
When the woman met her partner on an internet dating site in September 2023, the strange case got underway.
