LAHORE: Sources told Geo News on Wednesday that the possibility of a postponement in the publication of the schedule for the mega-event means that the uncertainty surrounding the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Champions Trophy 2025 is likely to persist.
It is unlikely that the event’s schedule will be revealed in the coming day because the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the sources noted, was not backing down from its opposition to a hybrid format for the tournament.
The PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have been at differences over the latter’s apparent refusal to travel to Pakistan for the highly anticipated tournament, which is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan in February or March of next year.
