Co-star Danny McBride, who was astounded by Robert Downey Jr., divulged intriguing information regarding RDJ’s method acting abilities, which helped him get an Oscar nomination.
In a recent interview with GQ, the star of This Is the End talked candidly about his encounter with the father-of-three while filming his war comedy, Tropic Thunder.
The 47-year-old actor disclosed that RDJ kept his persona intact behind the scenes because he was so dedicated to his work.
“I guess they left Downey’s mic on during one of the takes, so I’m sitting up there and I’m like, ‘Oh s***, I can hear what he’s saying,” the man recalled.
“He was conversing with individuals, remaining true to his persona throughout.” Afterwards, as I watched him make his way back to his trailer, I noticed it from down there and he was talking to himself.”
