The coroner has stated that popular Irish singer Sinead O’Connor passed away naturally in July of last year after being discovered dead in her London home. The 56-year-old vocalist of Nothing Compares 2U was declared dead at the scene, and according to the authorities, her death is not being investigated. This demonstrates that Ms. O’Connor passed away due to natural causes. The London Inner South Coroner’s Court announced in a statement on Tuesday that “the coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death.” When she passed away, the coroner’s court said that an autopsy would be performed prior to deciding whether to call an inquest. O’Connor’s supporters, including other performers, expressed their condolences following her passing.
The singer, who gained popularity in the 1990s, altered the perception of women in music at the time. Her shaved head, pained expression, and shapeless wardrobe were seen by many young women as a direct challenge to popular culture’s long-prevailing notions of femininity and sexuality.
She was also vocal about her political stance against the Catholic Church.
O’Connor was vilified by some and praised as a trailblazer by others.
