A fresh notification from the Karachi Commissioner has increased the official price of milk by Rs20 per litre, to Rs220 per litre.
In the past, a liter of milk in Karachi was officially priced at Rs 200. Every retailer and customer in the city will be subject to the new pricing.
Additionally, the notification states that wholesalers would pay Rs205 per litre for milk, while dairy farms will be able to sell it for Rs195 per liter.
The price hike has been ascribed to growing production and feed expenses for dairy cattle.
