According to sources on Sunday, an accountability court would not issue its reserved ruling in the £190 million settlement case against imprisoned Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
The case against the pair will be heard today (Monday) in the accountability court in Islamabad rather than at Adiala Jail, where the former prime minister is detained, according to sources who spoke to News.
The accountability court will announce a new date for the verdict announcement today, sources added, and the PTI’s legal team has also been informed of the development. They stated that the decision would be made public during the first week of January 2025.
Accountability Judge Nasir Javed Rana postponed the decision on December 18 following the PTI’s attorneys’ arguments.
