Michael Strahan, anchor of “Good Morning America,” was sitting next to his daughter Isabella, 19, when they disclosed that she was suffering from medulloblastoma.
In an interview with Robin Roberts, the two made an appearance on the Thursday morning show to announce the news.
After experiencing “excruciating” headaches, Isabella Strahan, a freshman at the University of Southern California, was diagnosed in the fall.
She said to Roberts, “I probably didn’t notice anything was off until about October first.” “That’s when I could no longer walk straight and I definitely noticed headaches and nausea.”
Medulloblastoma is “the most common type of cancerous brain tumor in children,” according to the Mayo Clinic, and usually starts in the cerebellum, a region of the brain important in movement and balance near the bottom back of the brain.
