The director of Damsel offered insight into the challenges Milli Bobby Brown faced while portraying Princess Elordi in the fantasy film on Netflix.
Fans are aware that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is directing Millie’s next film, which is scheduled for release on March 8, 2024.
In an interview that was released on Thursday, the director discussed the drawbacks of filming in a dimly lit setting.
Juan told Total Film that “The caves were a huge problem in terms of light, and in terms of design, because you’re dealing with an environment that’s really tight and dark.”
“It’s not always easy to shoot that kind of stuff, but it’s a much bigger challenge for Millie to go after it,” the director continued.
He went on, “You’re dealing with hard surfaces, fire, water, darkness, and rocks.”
Juan also acknowledged, saying, “You have to fully believe it if you want to be realistic, which was the intention. And hardness is implied by that kind of realism.”
But he acknowledged that Millie Bobby Brown’s “exceptional” talent allowed her to portray this “tough” character.
Regarding Millie’s performance, the director of the Netflix film even said, “She understood that this needed to be an extreme survival experience.” He then ended the conversation by saying, “And in order to make that believable, you have to convey suffering and pain.”
