Hugh Grant spent his Christmas distributing joy to those in need after Wonka’s success.
At the Big H&F Christmas Day Lunch event on Monday in the Hammersmith and Fulham neighborhood of London, the 63-year-old actor stunned everyone.
Hugh was pictured by PEOPLE feeding lunch to elderly residents while the council brought together everyone who doesn’t have family to celebrate the holidays with.
The actor from Notting Hill conversed and interacted with the guests, allowing some to capture the joyous occasion in photos.
A council representative for Hammersmith and Fulham said that Hugh’s attendance was an unexpected Christmas gift.
The deputy leader of H&F, Councillor Ben Coleman, said, “We are grateful to everyone who attended our annual Big H&F Christmas Day Lunch, including a very special guest, Hugh Grant.”
Ben said, “Huugh helped us serve lunch to 500 local older people who would have otherwise celebrated alone,” praising the actor’s thoughtful gesture. Actually, this was the true love.
The annual Christmas lunch in Hammersmith and Fulham will be held thanks to the event, which raised about £40,000, according to an article published in the London Evening Standard on Wednesday.
The event’s press release said that the number of volunteers exceeded the maximum for this year’s event.
