Huge white minimalist homes with floor to ceiling windows and yellow and red wooden villas perched on rocky cliffs can be seen on Lidingö island.
It takes less than thirty minutes by car to get from Stockholm’s downtown to one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Sweden.
Konrad Bergström, a serial entrepreneur, turns on the light in his wine cellar to display the 3,000 bottles he had kept there. He beams a beautiful white smile and continues, “I love French Bordeaux.”
There’s also an open-air swimming pool, a gym with leather-upholstered seats, and a disco that doubles as a workshop with a big metal urinal.
A successful entrepreneur’s lifestyle is not shocking, but what may surprise observers across the world is the sheer number of people in Sweden who have amassed fortune equivalent to or greater than Mr. Bergström’s, despite the nation’s well-known socialist political leanings.
