If the 23-year-old Italian doesn’t incur any more infractions before the end of the upcoming season, he won’t serve out his suspension.
Due to offenses committed while he was in Italy, he is already serving a 10-month ban that expires in August.
Following his accusation by the FA in March, Tonali admitted placing between forty and fifty football bets, including four on the Magpies’ results, after joining News from AC Milan in July of last year.
Tonali, who has also been fined £20,000, allegedly wagered “well in excess of 100,000 euros” (£85,600) on the bets, according to the FA.
According to the FA, Tonali won all four of his wagers on Newcastle. In three of the four games, he participated.
Newcastle stated that Tonali is “continuing to follow a therapeutic plan and educational programme with the club’s full support and will continue to train with his team-mates” .
