ISLAMABAD: A recent hostile post on X from the party’s official account that targeted Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has angered the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders involved in the resuscitation of backchannel discussions.
The hostile tweet and other controversial items have been shared with them, according to informed sources. This is a setback for the PTI, which is still pursuing talks with the establishment while launching an anti-military campaign and hitting the army chief directly.
The PTI leaders, who are still pursuing reconciliation through private negotiations with the approval of imprisoned party founder Imran Khan, are apparently worried by the response to the tweet.
